Irene Ballester attended the 18th International Computer Vision Summer School in Sicily, Italy from July 7-13, 2024. This year’s program focused on “Computer Vision in the Age of Large Language Models”. The summer school featured lectures from world-renowned experts in computer vision from both academia and industry, including speakers from institutions such as MIT, Caltech, Max Planck Institute, Meta Reality Labs, Amazon, and Microsoft. During the event, Irene presented her research work “Measuring Dementia Behaviours from Depth Maps” as part of the poster session, which provided an excellent opportunity for networking and receiving feedback from leaders in the field. ICVSS is a highly selective program, accepting only about 100 qualified participants, and has previously been awarded the IEEE PAMI Mark Everingham Prize (2017).
